How to Exclude Contacts from a Contact List

  1. Follow our guide on 'How to Create a Dynamic List'.

  2. Once you've reached Step #6 in the guide and generated a preview of your list, you have the option to manually exclude contacts from your contact list by removing them one by one.

    1. Under the Exclude column, click on the 'Remove contact from list' icon to delete them from your contact list. They will not be deleted from your database, solely from the contact list. If you would like to add them back to your list, please recreate your contact list by creating a new one with the same filter rule(s).

Please note: The Exclude action autosaves as the 'Save' button at the top is related to the Filter Rules.

  1. Another way to remove contacts is by expanding the Inclusions/Exclusions section. This is where any contacts that you excluded using the icon from Step 2 above will be added in case you need to reference them. Once you have clicked anywhere on the Inclusions/Exclusions bar, it will open up.

    1. Click on 'Add Contact' under the Contacts to Exclude section to the right.
    2. Select the contact(s) that you want to remove from your contact list by checking them off.
    3. Once you click on the Select button, they will be added to the Contacts to Exclude section and will no longer be a part of your Contact List Preview when you regenerate your contact list.
