Creating and Managing Custom Fields

Custom Fields are a part of your Site Customizations where you can create custom page data elements in the contact and gift sections of your Eleo database.

  1. Click on the profile icon, which represents your Settings, in the upper right-hand corner of your screen in your Eleo database, and then on Site Settings.

  1. Scroll down to Site Customizations and click on Custom Fields to expand this section.

  1. Within Site Customizations, you can see how many custom fields are in use, how many are available as text boxes, how many are available as numeric ones, and how many are available as date ones. Eleo determines how many you may have for each (15 on the contacts screen and 15 on the gifts screen). Click on 'Edit' next to either Contacts or Gifts for the corresponding area of the database where you want to add a custom field.

  1. Next, click on the pencil icon to edit any existing custom field definition or on the 'Add Custom Field' button to enter a new option that'll appear in this corresponding area of your database.
    1. Field Name: the designation of this custom field that will appear in your database.
    2. Field Description: internal details for reference for the Display Value.
    3. Field Type: the class of an area in the database on a particular screen.
    4. Active: whether this custom field is operable in your account (turned on) or inactive when toggled to off.

  1. Enter the information that you want and click on 'Save' to proceed with this action. The custom field will now be available for your use in the corresponding area of your account.
