How to Add a Numeric Custom Field

Settings are the back-end of your Eleo database. Site Settings allow you to maintain and customize the front-end system. This is where you can set up custom fields, such as a number option.

These are the steps for adding a number as a custom field in your account:

  1. Click on the profile icon in the upper right-hand corner of your screen in your Eleo database, and then click on Site Settings.

  1. Scroll down to Site Customizations then click on Custom Fields to expand this section.

  1. Click on 'Edit' by the page that you want to add a custom field to, which is either Contacts or Gifts.

  1. Click on 'Add Custom Field' and enter the information for the codes on the screen. Please be sure to click on 'Save' when you're finished.
    1. Enter the Field Name. This will be the name of your custom field that will display in your database. This is a required field, as indicated with a red asterisk (*).
    2. Description is optional. This is an internal reference for your nonprofit for this custom field.
    3. Field Type: select Number. This is a required field as well, as indicated with a red asterisk (*).
      1. Whole Numbers: This represents the amount of digits possible for your number custom field, which you may always edit later if needed (Ex. 10,000 would be 5 whole numbers). This is a required field too, as indicated with a red asterisk (*).
      2. Allow Negatives: Toggle on if your number custom field will be accepting negative integers. Please leave it toggled off if this field will solely be accepting positive ones.
      3. Decimal Places: The amount of digits followed by the decimal for the numeric custom field (Ex. 1.00 would be 2). You may enter 0 if you would like none. This is a required field also, as indicated with a red asterisk (*).
    4. Active: Toggle this on so that you may use this custom field in your account.
