Eleo integrates with DonorSearch, a prospect researching tool and wealth screening engine. Eleo's integration with DonorSearch allows you to connect to your DonorSearch account once you've signed-up. When you've successfully connected it, your Eleo contact records will have a DonorSearch icon that appears, allowing you to click on it and be brought to a DonorSearch profile. Our integration is solely for looking up existing contacts that are in your Eleo database.

Eleo will send over the following fields to DonorSearch if they are on file, which will increase the accuracy of the search:

  • Account Number
  • Title
  • First Name
  • Middle Name
  • Last Name
  • Suffix
  • Spouse
  • Address Type
  • Address Line #1
  • Address Line #2
  • City
  • State
  • Zip Code
  • Phone Number

Steps to Integrate with DonorSearch

1) To integrate with DonorSearch, you must first go to Settings > Site Settings > Integrations.

2) Next, click on DonorSearch to access the DonorSearch Settings.

3) Click on 'Create New Account at DonorSearch.net' and select your plan. Please ensure that only one user signs up from your organization to ensure the correct API Key is connected. If you indicate to our Support Team at Support@EleoOnline.com that you would like to proceed with the annual contract after the Free Trial, we will update your database to reflect that you will be continuing with this integration. This is strongly preferred as opposed to submitting a new sign-up form.

There are two available plan options for the integration with DonorSearch. There is the Free Trial version and the annual contract:

DonorSearch Free Trial:

  • The Free Trial version allots 10 profile lookups within 30 days of the DonorSearch sign up.
  • DonorSearch Free Trial accounts will have their integration turned off by DonorSearch after the 30-day time frame from the date of the signup.
  • After the DonorSearch Free Trial ends, the account stays active for 90 days.
    • This allows you to notify the Eleo Support Team if you would like to move forward with the annual contract so that you may continue using this integration. We recommend contacting Support@EleoOnline.com if you would like to proceed with the annual contract before your DonorSearch Free Trial period end date to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Eleo saves your username, password, and API Key for DonorSearch. If needed, the Eleo Tech Team has the ability to retrieve this information for you.

• If you did not proceed with the annual contract after the Free Trial of DonorSearch following 90 days, and you choose to come back to use Eleo's integration with DonorSearch, you will need to submit a new DonorSearch sign-up form for the annual contract.

DonorSearch Annual Contract:

  • The annual contract with DonorSearch is currently available in a single annual payment of $240.00. This is special Eleo pricing.
  • There is no monthly limit on lookups for the annual contract with DonorSearch, though it is important to note that beginning the day that you sign-up for this, you will be allotted 1,200 lookups for that year. This equates to 100 monthly screening credits within your DonorSearch Settings.
  • The credit card on file will be charged upfront for $240.00 by Eleo's Billing Department.
  • If you choose to cancel your subscription with Eleo prior to your DonorSearch annual contract’s end date, the contract will still stand. This is because DonorSearch requires contracts, whereas Eleo does not. We recommend contacting DonorSearch regarding questions related to this.
  • If you choose to cancel your integration with DonorSearch, but are continuing with Eleo as your donor management software, you will need to negotiate this with DonorSearch directly because we do not provide refunds for this integration.

Renewing the DonorSearch Annual Contract:

  • Similar to the Free Trial version, when the DonorSearch annual contract ends, the account stays active for 90 days.
    • This allows you to notify the Eleo Support Team if you would like to move forward with the renewal of the annual contract so that you may continue using this integration for another year. We recommend contacting Support@EleoOnline.com if you would like to proceed with renewing the annual contract for $240.00 using the card on file for 1,200 profile lookups before your active DonorSearch annual contract period end date to ensure a smooth transition.

• If you did not proceed with renewing the annual contract after your last one ended within 90 days, and you choose to return to use this integration, you will need to submit a new DonorSearch sign-up form for the annual contract.

• If you are unsure of when your annual contract ends or if you are within that 90 day period, please contact Support@EleoOnline.com to connect with a Support Specialist.

4) After selecting your plan, fill out your corresponding information, and proceed.

  • Complete the Client Information section, and select ‘Continue’:

5) Click on ‘Place Order’ to create an account.

6) Click on the ‘Create User Account’ link in the email you receive.

Troubleshooting Tips:

    • If you do not receive this within 30 minutes, please check your spam or junk folder and whitelist DonorSearch's domain (@donorsearch.net) to mark their company as a safe sender to your inbox.
    • Depending on your email provider, you may need to move this email to your inbox for the link to become clickable.

7) Enter a Username and Password to complete the sign up.

  • When creating an account, please note that an uppercase letter is required by DonorSearch. Certain special characters (Ex. the # symbol) are not accepted by Eleo.

8) You will then have User Name and Password fields available in your DonorSearch Settings in Eleo to enter in your credentials for DonorSearch. Fill these out with your DonorSearch account's login information.

NOTE: There is only one API Key given to each organization. If you need to connect the integration more than once for any reason, please contact Eleo Support at Support@EleoOnline.com for assistance. Also, it is important that you read this language that's located in your Eleo DonorSearch Settings:

"Please ensure no other members at your organization have a current Donor Search login. If a second sign up occurs, it will reset your account and require a new Key. If you signed up for an account, but did not receive your username and password, please call or email Eleo Support."

9) Once your credentials are set up in DonorSearch, navigate back to your Eleo database and enter those credentials in your DonorSearch Settings.

10) You will see ‘You are connected to DonorSearch’ display. You are now able to use this integration.

11) When you navigate to a Contact Record in Eleo, you will now see the DonorSearch logo in the Giving Snapshot section. This will be available in each contact record in your database. Click on it to look up this contact in DonorSearch. Each click on this button is counted as one profile lookup/search.

Tips:

  • It may take a moment for the DonorSearch profile to open in a new tab of your internet browser. If a lookup does not successfully pull, you may need to configure your internet browser's settings to allow pop-ups and redirects for www.donorlead.net. You can research how to do this using your browser's search engine.
  • This integration is one-way, where Eleo sends information to DonorSearch in order to pull a profile lookup. Eleo does not retrieve information from DonorSearch at this time. We recommend setting up custom fields to track the information that you want from a DonorSearch profile in Eleo, so that you can manually enter the desired information. This information would be based on the day and time you ran a lookup and would not be automatically updated.
  • We suggest that you navigate to Settings > Site Settings > Integrations > DonorSearch > Account Usage to see how many searches you have remaining.
  • If you want to keep track of the specific individuals you've looked up and how many times, we recommend creating a contact custom field. This would need to be manually updated by your nonprofit.

You have now learned how sign up for our integration with DonorSearch and use it!
