How to Refund a Credit Card Transaction


  1. Go to Gifts on the left hand side navigation. Then select Payment Transactions.



    2. A list of previously processed payments will appear. Locate and select the payment you want to refund.


  1. The Payment Transaction Details for the selected payment will open. Verify that it is the correct transaction, then click Refund in the top right corner.

Important: Proceed with caution, as this action cannot be undone.


  1. A popup message will appear asking if you are sure you wish to 'Void/Refund this Payment Transaction'. Click OK to proceed with the refund or Cancel to stop the process.

Note: As stated in the popup message, the gift record will remain in Eleo as part of your data. If you prefer to remove it, you can do so at your discretion.

Tip: You may want to add a note to the donor's record for future reference.


In the Payment Transaction Details, the Status will now display as Refunded.
