Important Reminder

If a donor reports that a payment option is missing, it does not mean your form is broken. In most cases, the issue is tied to the donor’s device setup, browser, account, or wallet configuration.

Additional Causes for Why a Payment Method May Not Appear

Digital wallet payment methods (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App, Amazon Pay) are device-dependent, browser-dependent, and account-dependent. This means donors will only see the payment options that are supported and properly set up on their specific device and browser.

Even if your form supports all wallet types, a donor’s experience may differ based on several factors:

  1. Device restrictions
    1. Please reference the chart above.
      1. Example: Apple Pay only appears on Apple devices. Google Pay only appears on Android devices or Chrome browsers with a Google account.
  2. Browser and browser version restrictions
    1. Please reference the chart above.
      1. Example: Apple Pay requires Safari. Some payment methods require Chrome or another compatible browser.
    2. Older versions of Safari, Chrome, or device operating systems may not support certain wallet types.
  3. Wallet not set up or enabled by donor
    1. The donor must have the wallet configured on their device. If it isn't set up, the button will not display.
      1. Example: Apple Pay added in Wallet and Google Pay set up and active
  4. Donor not logged into the correct account:
    1. Some payment methods depend on the logged-in account.
      1. Example: A donor has two Google accounts and only one is connected to Google Pay. If they are logged into the non-Google-Pay account when using your web form, Google Pay will not appear.
  5. Browser settings or privacy controls
    1. Incognito/private browsing
    2. Disabled cookies
    3. Blocked third-party scripts
  6. Device or security restrictions
    1. Disabled wallet features
    2. Work-managed device policies
    3. NFC/payment settings are turned off
  7. Network, firewall, or VPN interference.
  8. Temporary cache or cookie issues.
    1. Sometimes the browser temporarily fails to detect an available wallet until cache is cleared or page is reloaded.
